| The player has to decide what
to do depending on the cards he has and the cards the dealer
has. Usually, if the dealer has a card bigger than seven the
player has good chances of winning if he hits between twelve
and sixteen. If the player has seventeen or more, he should
stand, because the chances of busting are high. When all
the players are done, it’s the dealers turn. He has
the same options that the players has, but he has to play
according to the dealer’s rules. The rules usually state
that the dealer has to hit if he has less than sixteen and
stand if he has more than seventeen.
The players have the option of splitting. They can do this
if they have a pair. If he splits, he’s going to play
two different hands with those cards. The right card is the
first to be played and the left one is the last. Usually,
on a pair of aces, if you get a ten is not considered Blackjack.
And if the dealer gets a Blackjack the player loses. You indicate
that you want to split if he puts a bet for the same amount
of the initial bet without touching the cards or the initial
bet.
When the player doubles down, indicates that he thinks he
can beat the dealer with only one more card. At this point,
the player can double the initial bet and get his card. Usually
Casinos allow players to Double Down in any hand except the
ones that totals twenty one, but a few limit the Double Down
to hands totaling nine, ten or eleven.
One option that some Casinos offer is to Surrender. If the
player thinks his hand cannot beat the dealer he can surrender
and the dealer will take his cards and half the bet, leaving
the remaining bet on the table for the next hand. |
